This complete landscape overhaul in Royal Oak, Michigan, was completed approximately four years ago and continues to thrive through ongoing maintenance and seasonal care. The project was designed to create a balanced outdoor environment with strong visual appeal, functional hardscaping, and year-round landscaping interest.
At Grow Garden and Landscape Design, our goal was to transform the property into a polished and low-maintenance landscape that would mature beautifully over time. Today, the landscape continues to develop naturally, with healthy plant growth and a well-established design that enhances curb appeal and outdoor enjoyment.
This project involved a complete redesign of the property’s outdoor space to improve aesthetics, structure, and long-term functionality. The landscape was carefully planned to provide a clean layout with strong focal points and plant varieties that offer color and texture throughout every season.
One of the main features of the project is a Copthorne Unilock paver walkway that creates a timeless pathway leading through the landscape. The walkway was installed with an angular step design to add visual character and improve accessibility.
To create a standout focal area, Spanish-style decorative tile was installed around a Japanese maple, helping define the planting bed while adding a unique design detail. The surrounding landscape includes carefully selected ornamental grasses and evergreen plantings that complement the overall aesthetic.
The landscape includes a combination of shrubs, ornamental grasses, and evergreen plantings selected for year-round beauty and low maintenance.
